Benefits of Doing Business with an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC)

Congress and regulators encourage government procurement organizations to utilize the type of procurement process granted to ANCs. Alaska Native Corporations and Tribal-owned 8(a) firms are eligible to receive contracts that are advantageous to our clients. Because of our status, you benefit from:

Expedited sole-source federal government procurements

Contracts of unlimited dollar value, versus the typical $3M limit for sole source professional services contracts

Non-protestable awards

Open discussion between the government and the ANC during all phases of the procurement

More ways in which ANC-ownership helps Rolling Bay meet your needs:

ANCs are granted an exception to the standard SBA “rules of affiliation”

Federal departments and agencies have
mandated goals for 8(a) contracts

Incentives are established for major prime
contractors to include 8(a) contractors on teams formed to compete for large federal
procurements

NOTE 1: This form of contracting streamlines the acquisition process and reduces cycle time for contracts. It emphasizes conducting actions concurrently, with a close relationship between an integrated Government team and the contractors. For example, the Government and contractors may work together to develop a solicitation package that meets the Government’s needs, while also eliminating contractor questions or concerns with it. Similarly, as the contractors complete development of portions of their technical and cost proposals, an integrated Government team, including representatives of the program office, the contracting office, the contract administration office, and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), may review the proposal and attempt to resolve issues the team identifies. When the completed proposals are then formally submitted to the contracting officer, much of it may already be negotiated. This approach is much more likely to result in an optimized program with an achievable scope, improved performance or quality, and the avoidance of non-value added requirements, at a lower overall cost than what was originally contemplated.
